Today was a good day.
The Mars meeting, although I was dreading it, was good fun. I figured it would be one of those meeting where we all sit around and one of the older higher ups from Mars gives us a bit of a lecture about what we’re going to be doing in the next couple of months. Nope. Wrong. There were five of the young Mars reps there to show us how they expected us to set up displays. I walked into the office to meet the other girls and almost ran into these five good looking boys setting up displays in the warehouse. I was talking to the girls about them - we decided our favourite was a Mr Benjamin (although Tom is Irish and has an adorable accent). I also got paid out for checking them out, which I think can be attributed to the fact that I’m the youngest. I get teased a lot.
We had our normal routine meeting while they stood outside setting stuff up and chatting, and then we went outside to listen to them talk for a bit. Ben did most of the talking.. and I was quite happy listening to him talk. At one point I sorta zoned out - they were joking around about one of the boys not being able to kneel down, which lead to other jokes, and then something else that I wasn’t paying attention to. The thing that grabbed my attention was when Ben said something about the person he hoped to have in his territory and pointed at me with this huge, and may I mention gorgeous, smile on his face. I didn’t really know what he’d said so I just laughed along with everyone else - I still don’t really know if it was a good thing or a bad thing. I wish I’d been listening.
But while he was talking it felt like he was looking at me a lot - you know how you can just tell when someone directs their attention to you? I figured it was my imagination since really, that’s just what I wanted to be happening, so I didn’t think much of it. Until afterwards when I got a phone call from mum (who happens to be my supervisor) talking about how Craig (the boss for SA) had commented about this Mr Benjamin looking my way a bit more than was necessary, and a lot of eye contact between us. Which of coursssse put me in high spirits and now I’m feeling on top of the world!
I also knew one of the other Reps, James, from out in the field. I wasn’t sure if he recognised me though, I haven’t seen him for ages and I always get worried that people won’t remember who I am (you’ve had to deal with this, Kevin. And you too, Brendan). But he cornered me in the hallway and we stood around and chatted for a while which was nice. I love my job so much - there are so many friendly people out there. I want to work in a job like this (although not this exact job) forever and ever.
