If there was ever one show which really freaked me out as a kid, it was Round The Twist. Seriously, that programme was fucked up.
I half-remember one episode with some kind of exploding mushrooms that pretty much killed people. I’ve no idea how it was a children’s programme.
I loved that show. Books are good, too. I’ll be reading Paul Jennings to my kids, because I love to hear 5 year olds go: “Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!”
The Round the Twist ep that I remember most clearly involved a dead stuffed fox that came to life, or something of the sort. I also remember one about the kids finding an old box/crate thing, and they put the clothes they found in it on the scarecrow. And the scarecrow came to life. Creepy as tv show, though.
