I went up to the lookout/garden that one Mr Cassidy told me about all those months ago, before he left for London. It got me really sad about going to London for a year (a lot of things are doing that these days).
But I mean, every glowing light represents a building I won’t see for year. A street I won’t walk down for a year. The blinking lighthouse light represents the beaches that I’ll be missing for a year. The Adelaidian waters, with the Adelaidians. These friendly people that I’ve coexisted with for 18 years of my life.
It’s ironic that the guy that found me this lookout - the place where I got all emotional about leaving Adelaide - is the very same guy who convinced me that it was attainable to leave Adelaide for a year.
