Freaky Ass Puppy

I just gave our 6 month old beagle x pug a pigs ear for the very first time. Instead of acting favourably towards it, he was legitimately scared of it. He circled it, whilst howling, for a good 5 minutes, before picking it up and running around the house with it and returning to his bed. Once he laid down with it he realised what he was doing and leapt out of his bed like the pigs ear was trying to bite him. Then, instead of picking it up and removing it from the bed, he tried to tip his bed upside down to get rid of it.

He’s happily enjoying it now, but I honestly don’t know what got into him.
