The night engulfs me.

The light, glowing from the monitor.

Provides the only source of illumination.

And cuts through the darkness.

Like a knife cuts through water.

The sounds are so different.

Magnified.

More real.

More substantial.

. 

I can hear the wind rattling my window.

Shaking the trees.

Disturbing the calm.

And i wish it was the only thing that was disturbing me.
